Announcement - Letter from the Council of Twelve Apostles

In March 2023, President Stephen M. Veazey invited members and friends into an intentional process to discern the next prophet-president of Community of Christ. In August, President Veazey experienced a health issue that necessitated a medical leave of absence. The remaining members of the First Presidency believed the ongoing discernment process should proceed in accordance with President Veazey’s original plan. After reviewing succession guidance, scripture, and policies, the First Presidency asked the Council of Twelve Apostles to accept the sacred responsibility of calling the new prophet-president.

World Church Submissions

All World Church Submissions for the 2025 Community of Christ World Conference must be submitted to Community of Christ by 30th May 2024.

Any Australian Resolutions will need to pass our Australia Special Mission Conference in February 2024. If you are wanting to submit a resolution please get in touch with Adam Wade ASAP - awade@cofchrist.com.au

Blessing the future with what we do today.

A few weeks ago I travelled to the USA to attend meetings there. At the meetings our discussions focussed on discerning future leadership for our global church. During my visit I was saddened to hear of the passing of President Wallace B. Smith. He served as prophet-president of our church from 1978-1998. I had only personally met him on one or two occasions, and then only after he had retired, yet I (like many others) reflected on his passing and his prophetic ministry in guiding the church. I considered how my global church family around the world might be feeling and how they were impacted by this man, if at all.
