C Plus Camp for Youth at Kallara
in the Strathbogie Ranges, Victoria
Comments from Talie Law, his friend PJ and Mimi Brunsdon (as camp leader in training) on attending C+ Camp at Kallara last week.
Mimi: The theme of the Camp this year was ‘Connect’ so throughout the week the youth had the opportunity to create meaningful connections with each other, as well as being encouraged to connect to the environment around them.
Talie: Camp is your home away from home, like your second family and it's a place that allows everyone to be their best selves and we can come together and have an amazing time. You could expect there to be problems but there just isn’t, as everyone is having fun.
PJ: It's just the most amazing time of your life, hands down – I loved it so much and I’ve no doubt that anyone who tries it will love it too. It’s just so amazing and I will be thinking about it for the next year. I so enjoyed just hanging out with this dude called Mak – he is super cool and super companiony, in fact all the camp is so open and ready to make new friends.
Talie: It was so cool to reconnect with everyone – seeing them again and reinforcing the connections we already had and making new ones with those I had not met yet.
PJ: I was a stranger here and then I felt so at home.
Mimi: I had a great time organising activities at the CPlus camp and spending time getting to know the youth. My highlights include participating in the camp band, running a murder mystery and winning at 'Red Light Green Light' for the first time in my life.
ML: I very much enjoyed the opportunity to be part of the program and so appreciated the work of Kass Unger and Kristie Woodward in making the camp happen and for the whole package to be so fulfilling. Amazing dedication!
