New opportunities for us to meet during COVID have presented a learning curve and resulted in some wonderful, flexible ways for us to communicate. We’d like to share what we have learnt with you so we can grow together with greater confidence in this new media.

Announcing a new series of workshops designed to help you enhance your experience with Zoom. Starting in October and held weekly, over three weeks, on Zoom:

Week 1 Date TBC- Focus on participants:

  • How to get the most our of your Zoom experience.

  • How to cast to another device, such as your television for a fuller experience.

  • Understanding the different screen views.

  • Information on accessing the controls on different devices and what to expect on different devices I.E Tablets, Phones, Laptops and Desktop computers.

  • Are you being seen and heard in the best light?

  • What is that button for?

Week 2 Date TBC- Designed to be helpful for those who are invited to speak or perform in Zoom:

  • How to best pre-record.

  • Camera placement and all the mechanics of being portrayed best in front of the camera.

  • How to share your screen.

  • How to enhance you Power Point display.

  • Issues with copyright, legal requirements and ethical standards.

  • We may look at best practices, staying on message and sharing the message in a new medium.

Week 3 Date TBC- Focus more on presenting a Zoom meeting:

  • How to host a meeting, send out links and work through advanced protocols.

  • Working with two computers.

  • Getting the sound right, co-hosting, sharing screens and the technical issues of hosting your own meeting.  

Prior to the workshop a lesson plan with notes will be distributed so participants have a document to refer back to reinforce the learning opportunity.
