Over the past few years, the Guildford congregation have been through an intentional process to discern God’s call for us, acknowledging our current physical circumstances and resources. In a recent business meeting, and subsequent World Church approvals, the congregation made the difficult decision to close.
The Guildford congregation will officially close on 30 September 2019.
A service of celebration will be held at 2.00 p.m. on Sunday 22 September.
The congregation takes this opportunity to thank past and present members for their support over the years. We want to also thank those folks who have visited with us and provided valuable ministry.
The Pastoral Team is planning the Celebration Service and appreciate there may be several people who would like to contribute in some way. However, time will not allow for people to express their feelings or give their testimonies during the service.
May we suggest that if you would like to express your feelings that you commit them to writing and send them to Bruce Wooderson, care of Mission Centre Office (12 Taylor Street, West Pennant Hills NSW 2125/ enquiries@cofchrist.com.au). A booklet of sentiments will be prepared and made available on the day.
Questions have been asked as to what equipment may be available for other congregations. An inventory is being prepared for the Mission Centre. There are several matters to be considered and it may be some time before it is known when and what equipment will be available.
All are invited to worship with us on Sunday 22nd September 2019.
Please uphold the members and friends of the Guildford Congregation as they work their way through this difficult and at times traumatic time.
