The Sunshine Coast lived up to its sunny name at the recent Kids Camp Experience during the School Holidays in Queensland where a small group of children took part in a 3 day sleep out held at the Thompson Farmlet on the Sunshine Coast. There were high lights to see as we experienced the moon eclipses up on Emu Mountain during a night hike, fun and games with the Old and New Testament, Campfire singing, sparklers, twisting by the pool and so much of Robert’s spaghetti it was coming out people’s ears. As usual at camps such as these, sleeping was a challenge but under the care of Jan Thompson and Kass Unger every waking moment was unforgettably good! As this camp was somewhat of a testing of the waters and the first steps towards a formal Community of Christ sponsored event, we were grateful to have had Kass, Robert and Jan give time to create some new memories and start the foundations for some bigger community camps into the future as the fun has only just begun!
