To the Community of Christ in Australia,
I am thrilled to announce that Meredith Carr has been designated as the new Australia Mission Centre President for the Australia Mission Centre, subject to approval by an Australian Mission Centre Conference.
The position will begin shortly after the visa process has been completed with a period of transition while they relocate, hopefully sometime earlymid September.
Meredith and her husband Dennis have been sensing a new calling on their journey of faith, and sense this is where God is calling them to serve.
Meredith brings a deep commitment to our church's mission and values along with a wealth of experience, most recently serving in various leadership roles in the Mid-Atlantic Mission Center.
She holds a Master of Arts in Religion from the Community of Christ Seminary at Graceland University, with a concentration in Spiritual Leadership. Her leadership roles have included Mission Center Invitational Support Minister, Pastor, and Sacred Space Minister.
Prior to full-time ministry, Meredith and Dennis owned and managed a successful dental practice.
Dennis has a Master of Arts in Religion from the Community of Christ seminary with a concentration in Peace & Justice, and has been serving as Counselor to the Mission Centre President in the Mid-Atlantic Mission Center.
He also sits on the Boards of the Deer Park & Retreat Center and the Community of Christ Historic Sites Foundation. It is anticipated that once they arrive, Dennis will also take on a part-time role within the Australian Mission Centre with a particular contribution to administrative responsibilities.
Meredith expressed her excitement about joining the Australian Mission Centre leadership team, emphasizing her commitment to listening, learning, and embracing the unique culture of Australia.
She believes in the importance of welcoming, empowering love and support, and is dedicated to ensuring that these values continue to be a cornerstone of our community.
I am confident that Meredith's leadership and Dennis’ presence will be a blessing to our Mission Centre and look forward to the fresh perspectives and energy they will bring to our work together. Please join me in welcoming Meredith Carr as the new Mission Centre President.
