Please read these important updates

Dear Friends,

Some important announcements:

New Mission President

After a significant recruitment process, along with support from the Apostle, the First Presidency is pleased to recommend that the Australia Mission Centre Conference sustain C. John Taylor as the Australia Mission Centre President. If sustained, John will begin on the 4th of July 2022. I also add my appreciation and support for John in this new role, and know that his Pastoral ministry, theological mind, and thoughtfulness for each disciple will be a blessing for the church here in Australia. Please attached letter’s from The First Presidency and Apostle Mareva Arnaud Tchong.

Change in Assignment

As was shared in the Mission Centre gatherings during this time of transition, the Mission Centre leadership team recognise the need for systemic and cultural shifts within the church here in Australia. Therefore, to be actively seeking new possibilities, communicating with members and friends, and then implementing transformations, Robert Thompson has agreed to some shifts in his responsibilities in his role as a Mission Centre minister. Robert will liaise with and engage various consultants and experts, both within and outside of the church, in the next 1 – 2 years. To help support this process the Apostle and Director of Field Ministries, with full backing from the Board of Directors, a significant portion of my role as President of Seventy will be given to work with Robert during this period, and to also continue to support the Mission Centre where necessary. At this stage the role of ‘General Manager’ will be put on hold from further development, as the corporate structure and operations of the church here in Australia will also be included in the process.

Welcome HR & Risk Manager

I would also like to share with the church and welcome K. Paul Hardwick who has been appointed as our new Human Resource & Risk Manager, working within the Finance Team. As a Bishop, and as he works closely in supporting the Mission Centre Financial Officer, we are grateful for the expertise and experience Paul is able to bring to this role.

Sincerely,
Adam
