New to Community of Christ history? Has it been a while since you’ve engaged with it? Keen for church history to feel relevant to who we are? This class is for you!
Next class: Sunday 14 November 1pm AEDT
Topic: Zion the Beautiful Beckons Us On
We're entering into a new century and a new era. As we start moving back to Independence, Missouri, are we going to start actually making this Zion idea happen? What does that even look like in the twentieth century? How do we adapt amidst the turbulent first half of the twentieth century?

Over eight sessions, Rick Collins and Em Gray will provide an overview of the story of Community of Christ from the 1820s to today, highlighting how who we are today has been shaped by our story. For those new to church history, we hope to provide a useful foundation. For those more familiar with our story, we hope to bring a fresh perspective.
Em Gray worked for about two years at church historic sites in the U.S. as a historical interpreter, interned at the Community of of Christ archives, and has been nerding out over early Mormon and Community of Christ history since falling in love with it as a uni student. Em has a B.A. in U.S. History and European History.
Rick Collins did his honours thesis in Religion and Peace Studies on the dynamics of nonviolence and violence in Community of Christ and LDS history, and has worked two stints as a historical interpreter at Kirtland Temple Historic Site.
Classes will be fortnightly on Zoom, starting 1pm. To sign up for the class, please visit: https://forms.gle/vKL2aYK9iqDo665n9
