The Open Door has its first Sunday Morning Worship
The Open Door - Community of Christ meets in Cranebrook, NSW.
The Open Door is open for everyone, it's a place where you are accepted and loved for who God has created you to be.
"At the Open Door we see God leading us towards becoming a seven day a week church. We seek to provide support services and ministries for people in our local community, as well as in our LGBTIQ community that meet the needs stemming from isolation, loneliness, rejection and fear. We are committed to finding ways to bring God's love to people by providing a caring, supportive and safe place for people to meet, make friends and be affirmed for who god has created us to be."
Last month they held their first Sunday morning service, welcoming friends from across Sydney.
Congregation members also worship on Sunday evenings and gather for Sunday afternoon Cafe and Community gardening each week.

Frankston Kinship Family Camp
With close to 60 campers and volunteers the Frankston Kinship Family Camp, last weekend, was again reported as a huge success!
A team of tireless volunteers looked after everything from the months of planning to the activities and running of the weekend. “We had an absolute blast.” said one of the campers on their experience of the weekend.
Kinship Camps give the families “a break away from home. The children get to catch up with their friends and importantly find out that they are not alone - that other children are in the same circumstances as they are: being cared for by people other than their biological parents. The relaxed setting and activities at camp has offered me an opportunity to get to know my children away from the routine of everyday life.” - Neil Eames
Neil shared his experience of being a KinCarer, the KinCarer camps and the Frankston congregation in the Love is the Message issue of the Australia Herald (page 26), read it (again) here.
Frankston and Bendigo Congregations run Kinship Family Camps annually at Kallara Conference Centre, Boho, Vic.
Australia Earth Stewardship Team visit Bendigo
Last month some members of the Australia Earth Stewardship Team (AEST) visited the Bendigo Congregation in Victoria.
“We discussed what it means to be a Christian in today’s climate crisis and ways we can make a difference in our local communities.”
The Bendigo congregation has many initiatives that align with the principles of Earth Stewardship including their community garden and 'Pop-Up' op shop which benefit both the church and community. During the visit the AEST joined with the congregation to up-cycle/ re-purpose old t-shirts into some useful bags!
Find out more about the principles and mission of the AEST on the website, or follow them on Facebook.
