Now that the Referendum is over, it prompts us, as a church to recognise the need for renewed empathy, kindness and respect in all of our communities. We acknowledge that there is work to be done. It is our collective responsibility to continue to advocate for initiatives that will contribute to advance the causes close to the hearts and minds of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We commit to reconciliation to address issues written in the Uluru Statement of the Heart to ensure equity and inclusion for all. Community of Christ (Australia) stands with the millions of Australians who are working and advocating for social justice and a fair and equitable society.
