Accommodation
Most people who attend the activities of the camp stay at Tiona Holiday Park, where the activities are held. You can book a campsite, a room in dormitory accommodation (“The Lodge”), or one of the many different cabins. There’s an option for every budget.
To be able to book accommodation at Tiona during the Camp period of 27 December to 2 January, you must first register for the Camp with Community of Christ and be allocated accommodation. You then book your allocated accommodation directly with Tiona Holiday Park via email or phone or in person: stay@tiona.com.au +61 2 6554 0291. To avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend you register (and request an accommodation allocation) in January for the following camp in December because the first round of accommodation allocations occurs in February. Accommodation is allocated with regard to specific considerations that are listed below.
Please note:
Please consider others and our mission to include as many people and families as possible. Larger (e.g. 2 bedroom) cabins for families are limited. Please reconsider your need to request a larger cabin if you can fit into something smaller.
If camping, we encourage you to request a site in the Lakeside South area.
All bookings must be for the full duration of the camp (27 Dec to 2 Jan).
Deposits must be paid to the Park at the time of booking.
Book in the name of the person staying on the site.
If later in the year you decide not to come, you must let us know ASAP and before you cancel your booking with the Park.
All bookings are subject to Tiona Holiday Park’s terms and conditions and cancellation policy.
Registrations and bookings are for people and families who attend Tiona Reunion Camp and actively participate in camp activities. We reserve the right to only approve registrations from people with a genuine intention to actively participate in camp activities in good faith.
Prices and accommodation grants - Pricing Guide
Accommodation prices are those advertised by Tiona Holiday Park for the relevant period, with a 15% discount to those attending Tiona Reunion Camp. Contact the Park for further information about their prices.
An accommodation grant is available from Community of Christ on application to assist with the cost of basic self contained accommodation during the Camp period if:
you need self-contained accommodation because of special circumstances; and
you can’t, or may struggle to, afford self-contained accommodation; and
you are not staying at Tiona for a significant period before or after camp
This grant will reduce the cost of accommodation by approximately 50%. The grant is only available for certain types of accommodation.
Types of accommodation at Tiona
For a site map and information about the different accommodation types, see Tiona Holiday Park’s website: https://www.tiona.com.au. Tiona Holiday Park is progressing a program of accommodation improvements, so check the website to see what is new.
Seeking a room-mate?
Sharing accommodation with someone else can be a great way to reduce the cost of accommodation. If you would like to explore the possibility of a room-mate but need some help to find someone appropriate, you can tell us when you register for the Camp. We may be able to assist.
Allocating accommodation
Accommodation is allocated with regards to the following considerations:
The need to maximise the number of people who can attend Tiona Reunion Camp
The need ensure people with special needs (e.g disability, elderly, vulnerable, people with small children) can access reasonably suitable accommodation
The need to ensure staff can be accommodated within the Park
The desire, where possible, to colocate family/friend groups in the same area
The desire, where possible, to minimise young children crossing the road to visit family or close friends
Whether you wish to extend your stay at the Park before and/or after Camp
Where you have stayed in previous years (continuity of place for a particular family/group will be balanced against giving other family/groups equal opportunities).
Meals
Breakfast is self-catered. You can also choose to self-cater for lunch and/or dinner. If you don’t have self-contained accommodation, you can use the camp kitchen or the common room with basic facilities in the Lodge.
You can book and pay to have lunch and/or dinner in the Palms Pavilion with others from the camp. The Palms Pavilion overlooks the lake and we have options for people with dietary requirements.
The platform to book and pay for meals opens in October. If you are registered, we will write to you in October to let you know when and how you can book your meals.
