8pm Getting the Most out of Zoom with Alicia Turner 60mins (Passcode 123)

Want to upskill your zoom knowledge? This session will teach you how to be the best participant, best guest speaker and best moderator/host you can be. I will share all of my wisdom with you from knowing your device to where to get free good quality images for powerpoints, followed by Q&A.

8pm Cooking With Love with Robert Thompson 60mins (Passcode 123)

Do you want some fun at Mission Conference? Well, I think God may be calling you to join me, for a cooking extravaganza of Biblical proportions!

Did you know that food is mentioned over 1200 times in the Bible, that’s 4 times more than love is mentioned, however if you add “love” as a “cooking ingredient” that makes 1500 times food is mentioned! But this will be no ordinary cooking Extravaganza. No! We will be preparing our mini-feast using only food or ingredients mentioned in the Bible! So, if you love all “Manna” of things scriptural, and want a bit of fun in the process of cooking “on-line”, Zoom in and join with me and a few surprise guests as we cook and convert you to “Cooking with Love”. We will be running two different 1-hour sessions over the Conference week. I hope we see you there!

TUESDAY JUNE 1

1pm Prayers of Gratitude 30mins

7pm Q&A with Julie Crittenden 60 mins (Passcode 123)

8pm Teach me how to pray with Adam Wade (Passcode 123) 60 mins MNC

Whether it is standing before a group of people attempting to address God on their behalf, or in private with eyes closed not knowing where to begin, for many prayer can be quite daunting. Further, as it occurs quite often at gatherings, some persons may feel embarrassed to ask questions about prayer, like: “Why do people close their eyes?”, “Can I write a prayer down?” or “What do I include in a prayer?" If you have these, or other questions about prayer, join me as we explore the basics of prayer together. During the session we will look at the Lord’s prayer in a little more depth, using it as a base to develop concepts and ideas to adapt to your own life - for both private and public prayer.

WEDNESDAY JUNE 2

11am Nonviolence and Scripture with Matt Frizzell (Passcode 123) 90mins

Nonviolence is a tool and strategy grounded in Christian faith and spirituality. In this class, Nonviolence and Scripture, I explain this in two steps. First, we will clarify the meaning of nonviolence. As a choice, using violence or choosing to be passive (one definition of nonviolence) is a false choice. We also clarify the differences between justified violence, nonviolence, and non-resistance. Next, based on Walter Wink’s book, ‘Jesus and Nonviolence’*, we explore Jesus’ teaching of nonviolence in the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5. This presentation is based on a workshop run by Matt with the World Church Leadership Council in September 2019. *A summary of W. Wink’s book is available here, or purchase from Amazon (AU)
