Newcastle Congregation to host talk about supporting refugees

You are invited to join Newcastle Congregation’s Craft Group this coming Tuesday, 19th July at 10:30am where they will be hosting a talk by Sister Di about the needs of refugees in the Newcastle area. Sister Di is a refugee advocate and the founder of Zara’s house. She will shares her story and talk about what we can do to assist refugees in Newcastle.

Community of Christ Newcastle craft group comes together every Tuesday and provides a safe place for people to explore their creativity and meet new friends. Over the years the group has donated so many beautiful handmade quilts and other items to local charities.

 Our speaker this week is our newly appointed Mission Centre President John Taylor. John has been Pastor to the Drummoyne Congregation and along with his wife Janine and their two adult children they have enjoyed living by the water at  Abbotsford in Sydney.  John has enjoyed a successful professional law career culminating in him attaining a position as Emeritus Professor at the University of NSW. John is completing his Associate Diploma in Theology and shares with us today words of wisdom on today’s theme “Who is my Neighbour”.
