Community of Christ, Drummoyne Congregation invites you to participate in a series of Zoom presentations and discussions that we are hosting on Global ChallengesThe first presentation and discussion will be held on on Sunday 5th September from 3pm  to 4pm (AEST) Australian Eastern Standard Time. 

The presenter will be Dr Sue Wareham who is President of the Medical Association for Prevention of War (Australia) and a board member of ICAN (the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons).  Dr Wareham is a former Canberra GP.

The presentation and discussion will consider questions like:

·       How can we work for a nuclear free world?

·       What role can faith communities play in nuclear weapons abolition?

·       Are nuclear weapons an affront to Christian beliefs?

·   How are people of faith taking action to work for the abolition of nuclear weapons?

ICAN was the recipient of the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize for its work on a global agreement to ban nuclear weapons.  Community of Christ member, Matthew Bolton and his wife Emily, were part of the ICAN team.
