Community Centers
Saints Care currently operates one community center and that is located in the Perth suburb of Kingsley. The “Homestead Kingsley” building is owned by the West Australian state government with Saints Care, funded by government grants, managing the center.
The center manager reports that the center continues to provide a range of valuable services to the local community on a daily basis. As an example, two coffee/friendship groups he manages, known as the Cuppa Chinos’, have a regular attendance of 20 people on Monday mornings and 14 on Wednesday. Those attending are mainly seniors looking for some companionship and they enjoy presentations from guest speakers.
A cancer support group, funded by Cancer Australia, has provided an important and successful counseling service over recent years. External funding has now ended and the center is looking at other ways to support the ongoing operations of this group so it can keep going for as long as possible.
